In Genesis 3:14-15 we read:
14 Then the Lord God said to the serpent,
“Because you have done this, you are cursed
more than all animals, domestic and wild.
You will crawl on your belly,
groveling in the dust as long as you live.
15 And I will cause hostility between you and the woman,
and between your offspring and her offspring.
He will strike your head,
and you will strike his heel.”
You ever notice the role of the serpent?
striking a heel is a defensive position – it is one of surprise, either cowardly or cowering. Striking a head is an offensive position. We are being told that satan has been cursed to crawl around getting hunted by the offspring of man. Why are we cowering? All authority under heaven has been granted to us. What we bind here, will be bound in heaven, what we loose here, will be loosed in heaven. Do we believe this?
Don’t let the enemy beguile you. Remember we have been told what to do. Remember. Repent. Return. The victory over life, death, and eternity has already been won.
In Revelations 1:4-6 we read
4 John, to the seven churches which are in Asia:
Grace to you and peace from Him who is and who was and who is to come, and from the seven Spirits who are before His throne, 5 and from Jesus Christ, the faithful witness, the firstborn from the dead, and the ruler over the kings of the earth.
To Him who loved us and washed us from our sins in His own blood, 6 and has made us kings and priests to His God and Father, to Him be glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen.”
Jesus rules over the kings of the earth. Why do we cower before them? He has made us kings (or, a kingdom) and/of priests to God. We join Him in ministering to both God and people. What a privilege. How many take that role seriously? Priests don’t get to retire from active duty until 50, after 25 years of service. And there was no inheritance in the land for the priests, because the Lord was their portion. What are my fellow believers so confused on this? Storing up for themselves on the earth where moth and rust destroy and thieves break in and steal? Why are they always arguing for their own way instead of humbly accepting God’s way? Let us repent daily and confess our sins to one another in humility. As we seek to bring our flesh down, God will raise us up.
