Had a chance to enjoy some great fall weather this past Sunday 10/25/2026. The sun was shining, the temperature was perfect, and the wind was virtually non-existent. All these factors make for a great time painting.

This lates piece, a part of my Northern Nevada and Surrounding Area landscape series, is small only 8″ x 10″ but I used oil paint instead of my usual acrylic and painted on a wood panel instead of my usual canvas. Which reminds me, I just received my first pochade box and this was my first outing with it. I hope to continue in oil, and have ordered some larger wood panels in 9″ x 12″ for future use.

I will endeavor to maintain my distinct style, despite the fact that I go out with a plein-air group who seem to all be trying to paint in the same style. Hope you enjoy.
