Had a chance to go out and paint this Sunday – joined a small group from Carson City and traveled to Truckee. Weather was fantastic, view was great and overall had an amazing time. I cranked the tunes and kinda zoned out for three and a half hours – here is the result. For those who wonder about such things, yes, I did paint this on a black canvas. I grew up in Southern California and painting on black canvas reminds me of those black velvet paintings from Mexico that I used to enjoy. I also spent time watching Bob Ross – so it kinda reminds me of his start dark and paint light technique – while being entirely different – since my paint is acrylic and dries incredibly fast while painting outside.
