This weekend (July 19, 2026) I had the opportunity to join some fellow artists and head to Mayberry Park in Reno near the Truckee river. I parked and walked about five minutes to this great location. I put on some music (in my headphones) and just tried to capture the scene of the moving river and changing lighting. Great day. Since I haven’t painted anything outside in years, it was a bit of a challenge. I don’t remember paint drying that quickly on my pallet when I used to do this kinda thing all the time, but then again, I was under a tent or umbrella for must of my outdoor painting in the past.
