Saturday found me in beautiful Carson City where I had the opportunity to paint outdoors in the brand new Bob McFadden Plaza.  What a fun day.  With the Third & Curry Farmer’s Market as the backdrop, and the ever popular kids fountain in the forefront, I was able to paint two new Biblically inspired paintings. The first, I cannot claim to have had much influence on, as I seem to have been chosen merely to hold the brush.  I started with two colors of blue paint, and a little light violet, and God helped it take shape both in my mind and on the canvas.  It was really exciting towards the end when it became a representation of John 3 where Jesus is talking about: you must be born of water and the Spirit to enter the Kingdom of God.

This one was all Exodus.  I started with a few quick lines placing the cliff, the bush, the gradient in the sky and the mountains int the background.  It was fun to paint, and sparked several conversations during its creation.
